SonnetCache: Version:SonnetCacheversion1.4 My problem thus seems to be some incompatibility of the new 10.5.6 framework with some previously installed package.Īlthough I did not spent enough time to isolate the exact incompatibility, it may be related to some of the extensions I had in the buggy 10.5.6 system which were absent from the clean one here is the differential list if someone is interested : In my case, as explained before, simply deleting the file did not make any improvement. One install is struggling with the USB data, and one is not. What could be interfering with 10.5.6's ability to play DVD audio through the soundsticks on one drive, while having it work fine on another? Same hardware, same speakers, same DVD.

So right now I need to find out WHY there's a USB/Soundstick/DVD Player issue on this particular install and update. The Soundsticks work fine, as they're supposed to, the DVDs play. I updated another install (on another hard drive) to 15.5.6, and the DVD player works on that drive when I boot from it. If I restore it to "Internal Speakers" it starts playing again. When I change the sound output back to "Soundsticks" the DVD playback freezes in a few seconds.

If I play the audio from the internal speakers, the DVD Playback no longer stalls, and I get sound from the DVD. I have Harmon Kardon Soundsticks, and the issue seems related to audio and USB. It seems AUDIO related, but I still can't figure it out totally.

I have a bit more information about this problem.
